Magic Unknown

This is a fantasy book gene. This doesn’t have a face on the cover but a face is not needed. The book in the middle tells everything about the book but does not allow anything to be spoiled about the book. The dust from the book is magic looking and it floats into the title. I created this look of the image through hue/saturation and textures. By changing the hue of the light brown color of the dust of the book to a colorful and mystical dust I as able to make the cover so much more interesting and appealing to the viewer’s eye. Once this was done I put a texture of stars over the magical book and put this texture layer on the blending layer of overlay.

Underneath the magical book layer I started to design the title, “Magic Unknown.” This allowed the dust of the book image pass over the text, almost like a flame of fire. This gives a push and pull effect on the text. A lot of graphic design and all about something called push and pull. What this means is that when you have different color contrast- like white and blue in this case- the white looks like it pulls off the page and towards you while the blue recedes back and pulls away from you. When they overlay each other this is what is called the push and pull affect. Then I put a text affect called bevel and emboss. The type front is mystical with diamonds in between the ‘U’ and ‘C’ of the title to create more of a fantasy title design. The ‘Magic’ is bigger then the ‘Unknown’ to create a more of a visual contrast.
